Honda Civic Car Review

Driving the Honda Civic

honda civic 2010 car review

Honda Civic 2010

The Honda Civic has smooth engines which can deliver a good performance.  It has a dash mounted gear stick which can take a bit of getting used to however after the learning curve this contributes to a stress free drive.

Due to its height visibility in the Honda Civic is very good and with light steering this adds to a stress free drive.  However it is a bit weak on corner handling plus as a small people carrier it is a better town traveler than a country road one.

The Honda Civic has a low engine noise level, solid ergonomic controls but the cabin interior is not very exciting.  The petrol engines use VTEC variable valve timing for optimal performance.

Most models come with air conditioning, a CD player, electric front windows, ABS and remote central locking.

The Honda Civic as A Fleet Car

The attractions of the Honda Civic as a fleet car are that it has solid engineering, an ergonomic disposition and low deprecation rates. It is fairly economical to run and insurance also tends to be cost-effective.  The downside is that for fleets which require out of town journeys it is not the most suitable vehicle.  It comes with a 3 year warranty.

Passengers and Luggage

The Honda Civic accommodates two adults amply in the rear and three can be accommodated.  It has good legroom and headroom.  The boot is spacious for its class of car and it also has split folding rear seats.

Security and Safety

The Honda Civic is amongst a handful of cars which has been designed for pedestrian as well as passenger safety.  It does exceptionally well in the NCAP tests with 4 stars for passenger safety and 3 stars for pedestrian safety.

It comes equipped with deadlocks, an immobilizer and front and side airbags.
